Enjoying test drawing on papers of #HiromiPaper 's Sample Book. I can hear a conversation with paper and water via brush. I am so in love with this feeling of sensual moment when fibers absorb the water and let colors dance or hug organically. I have no doubt that's my major calling to chose watercolor and Japanese ink ( sumi / black ink and shu / cinnabar ink ) for my medium on paper.
Visiting @hiromipaper in Santa Monica ( before they moved to their new location) and heard the stories of paper makers in Japan was one of my recent California trip highlights. I appreciate these papers even more. Now I have to order them !

先日のカリフォルニア、LAで念願のヒロミペーパー詣でをし、買ってきた和紙のサンプル帳に試し描き。紙と水との会話が筆を通して聞こえてくるようです。紙の繊維が水を吸って、色を踊らせたりハグしたりする瞬間の色香漂うような感覚がたまらなく好きです。だから水彩 (顔彩）や墨と朱などのインクをつかって絵を描きたいんです。その紙を漉いた方たちのお話しを少しだけ聞くことができたのも貴重な体験でした。太平洋を渡って来た特別な日本の紙。さー注文しよー！
