Comedian Phyllis Diller was known for her wacky costumes and characters. For #WomensHistoryMonth, take a look into her "gag file" by scrolling through the photos in this post. ????
Diller kept her jokes alphabetized by subject. Today, the 50,000+ jokes in her file are an amusing time capsule. They allow us to learn more about what was topical at the time, what was considered funny, and which boundaries could be pushed in jest. We've recently scanned the jokes. But to make them truly useful to researchers, students, and history fans, we need to transcribe them.
