In the forest high above the canyons of Utah, Clint Mecham a predator specialist from the State of Utah Dept of Natural Resources, gently lowers a sedated mountain lion onto the forest floor. For more than 30 years he's consistently collected data from lion across the entire state, and collared in excess of 400 mountain lion, allowing both the health and numbers of lion present to be accurately monitored by researchers.
