They are almost at the point where they will be kicked out of their pride by the dominant male and will have to make their own way in life starting out as nomads. Their chances of survival and taking their own territories are slim, particularly as available wild habitat declines and the human population expands. It's not easy being a male lion. The estimate that there are only around 3000 males left in Africa is testament to this. They have vulnerable times ahead, but right now they are healthy and fit - a real benefit to being a part of a pride. #bigcats #lions #botswana #thisismytrophy
