This photo of the female orangutan Walimah with her baby of 2015 features in the digital version of this story written by Mel White that illuminates some of the fascinating new discoveries still being made by orangutans, while at the same time they are drastically declining in numbers due to man-made threats. The work of my wife Cheryl Knott and her team from @saveGPorangutans working in #GunungPalung National Park, are featured as well as many of the other top orangutan researchers.
