The #HundsonRiverSchool painters #ThomasCole and Asher B. Durand each depicted the Clove from a similar vantage point.

The Hudson River School was a mid-19th century American art movement (1825-1875) by a group of landscape painters whose vision was based in romanticism. The paintings for which the movement is named depict the Hudson River Valley and the surrounding area, including the Catskill, Adirondack, and the White Mountains.

Thomas Cole is credited with founding the Hudson School, in 1825 as he hiked through the area stopping to make painting along the way that celebrated and depict the pastoral settings with where humans and nature coexist peacefully.
