Photo by @irablockphoto (Ira Block) The 4000 year old sport of hunting with eagles still exists today in the Kazakh region of western Mongolia in Buyan-Ölgii Province where there are close to 100 hunters - some of them women. Red or Corsac fox are the most common animals hunted by these female Golden Eagles, usually in the winter when the eagles can spot their prey easily in the snow. The hunters talk and sing to the eagles to imprint their voices on them, and after a number of years the eagles are set free into the wild.
