Photo by @daviddoubilet An American crocodile glides past my partner Jennifer Hayes while we were working in the rich mangrove systems that surround the Gardens of the Queen, a national park located off southern Cuba. This marine preserve called Jardines de la Reina is a sea lost in time where reefs bloom with schools of fish and the presence of super predators like crocodiles and sharks are an indication of an intact food chain.
