Photo and caption by @petekmuller. Ukrainian boys finish the running portion of morning physical training at a youth summer camp outside of Kyiv. By 8 am in June, when this picture was taken, the sun is already high and the temperatures reach easily into the 90s (32 c). The camp counsellors are soldiers and put the camp goers through intense physical exercise at the start of each day. I was reminded of my time playing high school football when we'd train in double sessions throughout the sweltering month of August. It felt then, as it did watching these kids, that the coaches and instructors spent time coming up with unique and unusual ways to make life unpleasant.
