The World Trade Center features a rare mix of tourists, people paying respects, and office workers. About 70% of 1 World Trade is leased, and thousands of visitors pour into this 1,776 foot skyscraper each day. Would you want to work at Ground Zero? Fifteen years after 9/11, CNBC asked tenants of #1WTC how they overcame any initial trepidation about relocating here. Chris Altchek and Jake Horowitz – co-founders of Mic.com, a digital news site aimed at millennials – signed a ten-year lease for the entire 82 floor. “9/11 has been a watershed moment for this generation. For my peers. And for Mic, the opportunity to go downtown and to be part of the rebirth of that neighborhood that a lot of people have done an incredible job with I think is an honor for us,” Altchek told CNBC. Thursday at 10pET, CNBC explores #GroundZeroRising, a documentary on the rebirth of the site.
