Yellowstone // Another unpublished image from the Yellowstone project. An aerial photo of the Mollie's wolf pack following the tracks of a grizzly bear to a carcass. Wolves and bears greatly benefit from each other wherever their ranges overlap. Wolves are strict carnivores, while grizzly bears are omnivores. But a grizzly bear will secure as much animal protein as it can find, this is often in the form of wolf kills in Yellowstone. Wolves benefit from bears at times when carcasses are inaccessible to them, like when trapped in ice, or in rivers. Bears will pull these carcasses to shore in order to feed on them, in turn the wolves too will have access to the meat.
