Year of the Ram celebration! First Ascent! And finally, after 10 years, with one of my favorite people on the planet @AndyLibecki, we stood on the summit in perfect weather. This summit was higher than any other in every direction as far as the eye could see! Being there with my brother was incredible. Seeing him really push his limits and trust me with his life was an honor. The bond of trust formed on an expedition is like no other, the respect created between partners is deeper than any I know, the joy and memories and emotions are never forgotten.
There is just something special about the journey to get to the summit, and then its pretty sweet to actually make it there. Utter joy. Of course, after 20 minutes of celebration our stomachs started to growl and eyes blurr with dehydration... We had a long way to get down to our high camp where wonderful hot meals waited. It took us over 48-hours of almost nonstop climbing...getting down was a new equation. In a way, we were only halfway to a truly successful first ascent and expedition.
