Photo @Keith Ladzinski / A #familyportrait of close and distant relatives in the #yucca family. A fully grown #JoshuaTree extending a composed gesture of love around its distantly related cousin, the mojaveYucca, seen leaning in here. I'm not saying that these plants have a proven affection for one another, but stumbling across this composition in the backcountry of #JoshuaTreeNationalPark put a smile on my face. Life in the Mojave Desert is a hard road for the J Tree, with heat index on the rise and compounded years of drought new sprouts are struggling. Prompting the question, what would Joshua Tree National Park be called if there were no J Trees left? #climatechange
