Although I had this camera set up to capture mt. lions, occasionally we’d get photos of other animals walking by like this mule deer. Affectionately known as “mulies” by locals, they have a black tip on their tail and are larger than white tail deer. With patience and persistence we were able to finally get a shot of a lion in this location. You can see more from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in the May issue of National Geographic Magazine. Until then, follow along with me @drewtrush as I share more stories behind the pictures taken while on assignment on my feed.
