Today we went behind the scenes in @国立アメリカ歴史博物館’s #PoliticalHistory collection, getting a look at some of the thousands of objects dating from before the Revolutionary War through just last week.

This dress from the collection, covered with an “Ike” print, was worn by an Eisenhower supporter.

Curators look for items that show how Americans interact with democracy—and people often express their point of view through what they wear. More than only signs and ballots, political history includes fashion too.???
