Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) - After negotiating a deep pit and a giant ice cork in the entrance series of El Cenote cave in the Italian Dolomites, we reached a large cathedral-shaped chamber at the bottom. We began building up a 3D laser scan of the space, which involved moving the scanner to 12 different positions on the floor of the chamber. Each new position was carefully chosen so that the new scan would overlap with a previous scan.
