Though the clothing featured in the work of American artist @f_fleur, aka 18-year-old photographer and designer An Nguyen, slouches and drapes off the slight and faceless figures, there is a stillness captured in the images that hints at both sensuality and ennui. Living in Utah, Nguyen takes inspiration from the landscape’s dramatic blankets of snow in his simple, structured pieces.
The images are elegantly minimalist, and the artist has a sharp eye for the particular angles and silhouettes of the featured garments, with a distinctly masculine edge. The feed is a lingering premonition of a future landscape of rationed color and hope traipsed across by well-heeled, despairing phantoms. Fleur’s #GucciGram interpretation features the model’s face in several images. She treats the #GGCaleido print handbag as if it were a sacred object, a delicate but fearsome relic of some not-too-distant past that must be preserved in the starkness of this new future.
