Photograph by @paulnicklen // As Emperor Penguins dive, they occasionally bleed off extra air from their feathers before they rocket back towards the surface. They keep this air in their feathers for that crucial moment when they are going to exit the water, releasing millions of micro-bubbles from their feathers which lubricates their bodies from the friction of the water.
