Time for a little #Panerai History lesson. Here we have a super rare laboratory prototype that was made out of bronze from 1985. It featured acenter sweeping seconds hand, 1000M water resistant, and is all wrapped up in a 47mm case. This particular piece was designed and hand created under the direction of Alessandro Bettarini. There were two types made, one in Titanium and this particular one in Bronze. It is believed that there are only 4 prototypes in a bronze case that were made in 1985

One of these prototypes is going to be on auction off by Christies this coming year. In 2013 a similar prototype was sold by Sotheby’s Auction House for $136,000 USD. I wonder what the one this year will go for. Pic by Sotheby's Auction #PaneraiCentral
