Percy Loy was born in Vancouver, Washington, to Chinese immigrant parents. During World War II, he served as an Army Air Force pilot but, like other Chinese-American pilots, he wasn't able to find work with a commercial airline after the war. Instead, he started a frozen food company, Kubla Khan. His innovative cooking, freezing, and promotion techniques made his company successful at a time when frozen food wasn't known for its quality (or even safety). Learn how he did it on the blog: http://bit.ly/freezerfood (clickable link in profile)
