This is called "robatayaki" of scallops (ホタテの炉端焼き). It is a type of Japanese barbecue-style cooking that originated in Sendai city, Miyagi prefecture. It smells so good while the scallops are cooked on robata being seasoned with soy sauce, and of course tastes amazing too!
