. . BACKGROUND: 15 years ago Zimba was abandoned by his mother and was found in a stable. We brought him home and gave him such a wonderful life. . In July I noticed that Zimba was not feeling well. I had this feeling... that "something was not right". His health had changed soooo quickly. It went from great to not so great in a very short period of time. I noticed that he had lost weight. After he had some tests performed at the vet clinic, I've learned that he had stage 3 kidney disease (4 being the worst). . This is a disease that is progressive therefore not curable. The only thing we can do is try slow down the progression. . UPDATE: We have worked very hard to slow down the process. And we "monitor" him and keep an eye on him almost every second. Some days we have to handfeed him. But it's worth it; . We have been to the vet clinic for an update. And our hard work has paid off. His testresults were even better than last time. Not much. But still... We have managed to slow down the progression. And HE HAS GAINED 400 GRAM. That is pretty much for his tiny body. . I know.... he is in stage 3. I know he is sick. But I also know he is a fighter! His body and fur looks so much better today than it did a couple of months ago. He is so much happier. And he looks so much stronger. I'm trying very hard to be positive. That is what he wants. That is what he needs. We have been through sooooo much together. He has been a part of my life for 15 years. . (He is wearing his bandana that he got from our sweet friend Denise @nolababies #nolababiesbandana) . .
