This particular piece was first thought up in 2001 as the PAM79 but never made it to production due to technical problems. Also the PAM79 was being made in a 42mm case versus this model which is a 45mm case. The two blue hands on the dial give it a gorgeous contrast in my opinion. I am a bit biased because I truly love blue hands on a Panerai. The Foudroyante is not a very common complication these days as it measures time in 1/8th of a second on the left sub dial of the chrono. It also has a function where you can have it record two different chrono times with the two sweeping seconds hand. All in all, I think this is a very well rounded piece of the Panerai collection.
