Design has a history of violence, even though it is usually portrayed as benign and constructive. Together with my colleagues, I have explored the dark side of design in an ongoing curatorial experiment online, titled "Design and Violence." Every week, we post a different object that has an ambiguous relationship with violence--like this shooting range human target--and we ask for a comment from an authoritative source.
