This is a Thanksgiving menu from Fort Gordon United States Army installation in Augusta, Georgia, in 1965. Conflict in Vietnam had escalated in 1965 and the #Thanksgiving message at this dinner encouraged the troops to, "pause for a moment and in your own hearts and in your own way express thanks for the food, for your place of service to our country, for health and happiness, and for the love of family and friends."
