"We were back on the ground last night at 2 am. After the first step up to "Schwieriger Riss" on the Eiger's north face, the bad and scary conditions forced us to climb off the window at Stollenloch and to stop the mission. This is frustrating, but mountaineering is all about the right timing. It is too late in the season, but leaving earlier was not an option because of the weather. Now we are highly motivated to attempt again next year. We are convinced that with our knowledge and experience it is possible.
