Carabiners! Whilst at @blackdiamondequipment we tested the breaking point of these hoodwires loaded differently. Loaded normally (far right) the hoodwire broke at 25 kilo newtons. To put it in perspective dyneema breaks at around 22. When the biner was cross loaded it broke at 8.6 (left). When hooked through the nose of the biner it broke at just over 2. Hence the hoodwire biner - pretty hard to nose hook! So kids, don't cross load or nose hook your biners!
