The #Panerai PAM252 which looks like a submersible but in fact the bezel isn’t used to calculate submersion time, instead this is a compass aid. The watch features an engraved case back that features a picture of the polar ice cap as well as the signatures of Mike Horn and Borge Ousland. The engraving is there for the expedition that Horn took at the North Pole. This expedition was the follow up to his first solo circumnavigation of the Arctic Circle which was known as the Arkots Expedition. Panerai was an exclusive partner for the North Pole Winter Expedition and they developed some features on this watch to aid him in the journey. The watch featured a soft iron inner case to protect the movement from the influence of the strong magnetic field around the North Pole. The dial is a nice blue color and features the small seconds hand, date and GMT function. It also has the words North Pole on it.
