In the early 20th century, he sat on a factory fence, but now Mr. Peanut is part of our collection. The monocle-wearing, spats-sporting Planters spokes character demonstrates the resilience of branding and is an early example of outdoor advertising.

Mr. Peanut will be on display in the "Marketing Moments" section of the upcoming business exhibition "American Enterprise," which opens in 2015.
