I am pleased to announce the launch of our second Two-Day Online Focus Workshop, which will be dedicated to Kurinuki in Depth! During this workshop I will spend two days demonstrating and explaining my Kurinuki style. Kurinuki means “to dig out”— it is a great way to bring out the sculptural aspect of your ceramic works. I will be teaching a variety of methods to create dynamic shapes and surface textures in hand built pieces, and then showing how to carve out the insides after the pieces have been formed. I will also be demonstrating my original “Mille-Feuille” style of layering thin clay slices and then cutting with a wire to create naturalistic surfaces. $225 . Each session will run for three hours with a short intermission. Students are invited to submit questions on the Zoom Chat feature which will be answered during the session. . A few days after the workshop ends, I will share a link to enable students to view a recording of the entire workshop. The video will be available for one month.
