Custom travel crates, about 800 lbs. each, were made for giant pandas Mei Xiang, Tian Tian and Xiao Qi Ji for their journey from the Zoo to Chengdu via the @fedex Panda Express. Also, onboard is our expert panda care team. 🐼🐼🐼🛫
Zoo staff are traveling with approximately 220 pounds of bamboo, 8 pounds of leafeater biscuits, 5 pounds of low starch biscuits, 6 pounds of apples, 5 pounds of carrots, 6 pounds of sweet potatoes, 3 pounds of sugar cane, 1 pound of pears and 1 pound of cooked squash.
