BONES ARE BONES
When you see a big human. (Shout of to the bodybuilding 🐐@サディク・ハドゾビック) Especially athletes with decades of muscle mass packed on to their frame like this BAMF. it almost seems like MO Muscle Mo Problems! Just ask a IFBB Pro how their body feels…?
It’s easy to look at a symptom presentation in a lifter like elbow pain and just say… “yup tendinitis” but whatever happened to the good ole “differential diagnosis?”
Enter, the THORACIC OUTLET. For the record, im not diagnosing this athletes elbow stuff as thoracic outlet syndrome, but there are plenty of symptoms of sub clinical TOS worth considering…
-Diffuse elbow/tricep pain
-Diffuse Medial Scapular Border pain#
-Neck/Chest discomfort
-Constant “dead arm” in the morning (and no it’s not just from how you slept)
-Coldness in the hands
-Loss of strength/power
-worsening symptoms as they get a “pump”
- Position dependent symptoms
Moral of the story…things aren’t always what they seem. And when you’re working with athletes, humans achieving top physical performance…the game changes a bit.
