The last few days I haven't even tried to put Ada in her cot, I've had her next to me squeezing her in all night. This quote keeps playing in my head: "if you are able to tuck a healthy child into a warm bed in a safe home, then you've won the lottery in life." I'm not a religious person, and thoughts and prayers never feel enough anyway, but I wish so much for peace. For safety. For anyone around the world regardless of their religion. For all civilians. But especially all those poor babies and children. I'm torn between being glued to the news, waking in the night to consume content ... And wanting escapism. And what a privilege it is to be able to escape. To be lost in Alfie dancing to Harry Styles. To sit on the sofa and watch Zog. To sleep with Ada pressed up agaunst my body. Children are so pure and I feel so lucky to be lost in their blissful ignorance. I so want that innocence and safety for all children. I'm sending anyone who needs it just so much love. I hope all my friends who are struggling personally with the news, or who feel fearful because of their faith feel loved. Out of darkness always comes light.
