On the centennial of Richard Avedon's birth, this exhibition brings together three of his photomural portraits, some as wide as thirty-five feet. Earlier this year, Gagosian presented “Avedon 100” in New York, also in celebration of the centenary of the photographer's birth. For the show, more than 150 artists, designers, musicians, writers, curators, and fashion world representatives were asked to select a photograph by Avedon and elaborate on the ways in which image and artist have made an impact on them. The gallery published a book commemorating this exhibition, which consists of statements from these luminaries, as well as essays by Derek Blasberg (@derekblasberg), Larry Gagosian, Sarah Elizabeth Lewis (@sarahelizabethlewis1), and Jake Skeets (@jakeskeets).
