Now that the WGA strike is coming to an end, I can finally post this teaser (that you’ve probably already seen) for the upcoming anime extravaganza ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’.

I will have more to add in time, but suffice to say you are in for a real treat. As executive producer on this mind-blowing piece of work, I can say it’s been a pleasure to see it all come together since it was first talked about in 2020.

When @jaredbl1 and @siegelajs emailed me to ask ’Is there anything more we can do with Scott Pilgrim?’, I replied with the oft-requested suggestion that @radiomaru’s incredible series should be animated. Bryan was into the idea but didn’t want to simply revisit the same material. His vision, co-created with @bdgrabinski is going to break your brains and I’m so excited for you to check it out.

From Bryan and BenDavid’s first scripts to me getting the whole gang back together on the same group email we’ve had going since 2010, to hearing the voices of Micheal Cera, Mary Elisabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, @アナ・ケンドリック, @ブリー・ラーソン, @アリソン・ピル, @plazadeaubrey, @brandonjrouth, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, @markwebber, @メイ・ホイットマン, @エレン・ウォン and @satyasees (!) playing their parts again, to then seeing the creative geniuses of @sciencesaru create 8 incredible episodes of beautiful anime.

I have been waiting to sing the praises of Bryan, BenDavid, all the cast - who are still on strike so I will just say they are brilliant - and the wizards at Science Saru led by Director @aberukuma, Producer @eunyoung_tokyo. It’s a magnificent piece of work and I can’t wait for you to see it.
