NASA astronaut Frank Rubio is set to return home to Earth on Wednesday, Sept. 27 following a record-breaking 371 days in space.
Rubio, along with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin, will undock from the station’s Prichal module at 3:55 a.m. EDT on Wednesday aboard the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft. The three long-serving orbital residents will then take a short ride back to Earth, landing the same day at 7:17 a.m.
Rubio now holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a U.S. astronaut following his stay in space. Starting at 12 a.m., @NASA TV will be live with coverage of hatch closure, undocking, and landing.
