10月13,14日に金沢21世紀美術館のシアターで2台のアンドロイドが会話し続ける新作舞台作品を世界初演します。
タイトルはギリシャ語で存在を意味する「IDEA (イデア) 」といって、プラトンのイデア界と現象界をそれぞれ表象するAlter3とAlter4が舞台上で激しく議論するというある種、神話的な会話劇です。
脚本の全てはプラトンの著作とカール・ポパーによるプラトン批判なども学習した2台のGPTによって書かれており、いくつかの前提以外は結末から演出までAIに委ねられています。これらの生成にはAIを駆使する注目の若手アーティスト、岸祐真さんに協力してもらいました。
また、この作品はひさしぶりに人工生命研究者の池上高志さんとのコラボレーションとなり、Alter3は東京大学の彼の研究室により開発された発話された言葉がGPTによって運動に変換されるプログラムにより制御され、Alter4は電子音楽家でアンドロイドオペラのプログラムも手がける今井慎太郎による音楽の音量、音程、音密度に対して全身をシンセサイザーのようにモジュレートさせて運動生成するという全く異なった原理による2台のアンドロイドによる対立が展開されます。
僕は2台のアンドロイドと向き合う形でステージで全編に渡りピアノとエレクトロニクスを演奏します。

この公演は同美術館で開催されるDXP展の関連企画として開催され、両日ともに館長の長谷川祐子さんと池上さん、渋谷のポストトークもあります。

Oct 13-14, World premiere of my new stage work. For the first time, two androids will make continuous dialogue with my music at the theater @21_kanazawa, a contemporary art museum.

The title is "IDEA", which means existence in Greek and is a kind of mythical conversational drama in which Alter3 and Alter4, who represent Plato's Ideal world and Phenomenal world respectively, argue intensely on stage. 

The entire script is written by two GPTs, who have also learned Plato's writings and criticism by Karl Popper, and apart from a few premises, everything from the ending to the production is left to the AI. The generation of the scripts was assisted by @obake_ai, up-and-coming artist who makes full use of AI.

Alter3 is controlled by a program by the Laboratory of @alltbl, an artificial life researcher at University of Tokyo, in which words are converted into movement by GPT. Meanwhile, Alter4 generates movement by modulating its whole body like a synthesizer in response to the volume, pitch, and density of music by @pseudotaro, an electronic musician who also programs my Android Opera. A confrontation between two androids based on completely different principles unfolds.

I will play piano and electronics on stage for the entire piece to add emotions on play, facing the two androids.
This performance will be a part of the DXP exhibition @21_kanazawa, and there will be post-talks by the museum director Yuko Hasegawa, Takashi Ikegami, and me on both days.
