スージー・ロウさんのインスタグラム動画 - (スージー・ロウInstagram)「Another blockbuster fashion exhibition is about to open @vamuseum @chanelofficial “Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto” and it’s a stomper It’s excellent in exposing some of the lesser known facets of Coco Chanel’s work - her ties with British textiles and the fact that there was a British Chanel Ltd set up in the 1930s to adapt Chanel designs to a British clientale as well as her later work in her final years when you could see the silhouettes moving with the times But the fascinating takeaway was how aligned Chanel was already to modern machinations of luxury - the uniform branding and packaging of the beauty products (already established in the 1920s), using her face as part of marketing materials, seeing Chanel as a “brand” before that word even really existed… - Another aspect which most people have talked up of course is the purist beauty of all the garments on display… Spoke to curator Oriole Cullen for @theperfectmagazine and she talked about the timelessness of the pieces - which admittedly is an overused cliched that sometimes can have little meaning, but in this instance most of the two hundred looks or so really DO stand the test of time… “It’s the timelessness – is something that we found looking at the garments again and again.
