“I find a thrill in the doubt, the hate, the disbelief,” says Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. “Because it’s always been that way. Why would I want them to change their ways now?”

After Hurts earned a $255 million contract extension in April, which made him, for a brief period, the highest-paid player, on an annual basis, in NFL history, he saw that many Eagles fans were apoplectic that the team even drafted him in the second round. Now he knows some people are questioning whether he’s worth his astronomical price tag after just one stellar season.
