I wanted to create a brand that was intentional & purposeful. I wanted to make products that delivered on the promise of being FOR natural textured hair. I wanted to make products for curls, coils & tight textures no matter whose head they grew out of. I wanted to change the way that Black people were marketed to and create a space that was centered around the celebration of Black beauty & Black joy. In honor of PATTERN’s 4th birthday (today!!!), I am re-sharing the manifesta video that we created to launch Pattern in 2019—a love letter to our curls, coils & tight textures. I am so proud of the brand that my team & I have built. We started with 7 products & now we have more than 50 formulas & tools across 4 different categories (including a Blow Dryer!!) & we have 10 retail partners all over the globe & online & it’s all because of you, our incredible family.
