Earlier this week, congressional hearings on UAP (that's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, aka the artist formerly known as UFO) revealed the possibility that non-human biological remains have been recovered from crash sites. An exciting development, but on the runways the non-human fashion moments have always been plentiful—and major. There was Jeremy Scott's "First Lady–at–Area 51 looks" show for Moschino, and that time Alexander McQueen sent down Tron-esque looks down his Givenchy runway (Beyoncé recently wore one of these for her "Renaissance" merch book, too). One to often—metaphorically—land a spaceship in the middle of fashion week, Rick Owens alien-ized his models back for his fall 2019 collection, which was all about "grim, determined glamour," and there's also, of course, Iris Van Herpen's UFO-couture. What do you think the aliens will be wearing when they come visit us? Swipe through for our favorite alien superstar moments on the runway.
