Sometimes I feel like this may be an unpopular take in the fitness world…

But can we normalize not having body expectations, especially when postpartum?

There’s messaging out there that you should always be focused on working out and focused on nutrition 24/7, 365…

But then again we have messaging to just *live life* and not think a thing about fitness or nutrition 🤔

Which is the right approach?

…What about a middle ground?

I know balance isn’t “sexy” nor is it easy to achieve… sometimes the message of moderation can even be stressful to try and figure out how to put into practice

I’m not sure I have the right answer for everyone because everyone is different but what I do know is…

We are so much more than our bodies and our identity shouldn’t be so wrapped up in what our bodies look like or what our bodies can do (unless you’re a professional athlete or it’s a part of your job)

For those who it isn’t, I’m not advocating for doing literally *nothing* to move your body or eating anything and everything all the time

I also don’t think it needs to be your job to absolutely kick ass in your workouts!!

But there are seasons where we have the capacity to hardcore focus on fitness. And there are seasons where we don’t. And that’s ok.

Giving yourself that grace and space to just BE leaves that door open for you to resume focusing on fitness and nutrition from a much healthier spot, mentally and emotionally, which is a much larger determinant of your long term health and fitness success
