市川渚さんのインスタグラム写真 - (市川渚Instagram)「最近京都は同じところにばかり泊まってたので、今回は趣向を変え気になっていた「Maana Kiyomizu」 @maanahomes へ。京町家を改装した3部屋だけの小さな宿泊施設。今回泊まったSuite 2はメゾネットタイプでそこそこ広さもあり、のんびり過ごすのにもぴったりでありました。剥き出しになった小舞、土壁、和紙、モルタル、古道具、陶器など、テクスチャーに個性ある建材やインテリアアイテムを用いているのが印象的で、日本の侘び寂び文化って、こういったテクスチャーの違いを楽しめるところにもあるのかななどと改めて思った。色や柄ではなく、テクスチャーで遊ぶ、というか。 Recently, I've been staying at the same place in Kyoto too often, so for a change, I decided to stay at Maana Kiyomizu @maanahomes. It's a small accommodation with only three rooms, renovated from traditional Kyoto townhouses. I stayed in Suite 2 this time, a maisonette-style room with ample space, perfect for a leisurely stay. I was struck by using distinctive textures in materials and interior items, like the exposed "Komai (the base of earthen walls assembled with bamboo)," earthen walls, washi, mortar, kodogu (Japanese antiques), and ceramics. It got me thinking anew about how the wabi-sabi culture of Japan might be about appreciating these differences in texture.
