In 1977, Queen Elizabeth II was celebrating her silver jubilee but Britain’s own Virginia Wade was crowned at @wimbledon 🇬🇧

During her career Wade, who was a prominent founding member of the WTA in 1973, also won the @australianopen and @usopen and rose as high as No.2 in the world.
