若林奮  “ 森のはずれ ” 展が@ 武蔵野美術大学 美術館 で始まり、早速観に行って来た。
スーパーポテト／杉本貴志( 1945〜 2018 )さんの初期の傑作、 “ Bar Radio ” のカウンター ( 完全な彫刻です。) を手掛けたのが彫刻家／若林奮（1936–2003）で、それを知った20代前半からずっと僕の憧れの作家でした。
この展覧会はかなり大規模なものになっていて、タイトルにもなっている彫刻  “ 森のはずれ ” を始め、いくつもの作品とドローイング、そして制作過程のドキュメントまで充実したものです。
突き放すような強さと裏腹なセンチメンタルなコンセプトや繊細なドローイングは、これまで勝手にイメージしていたものとは全く違った印象受けました。
一体どこから始まり、どこが終わりなのだろう？迷いのないその凛としたワークを眺めながら、作家の生き様についていろいろと妄想したのでした。
一般の方も自由に入場出来るので、皆さま是非武蔵野美術大学の美術館でこのイベントをご鑑賞ください。おすすめです。

I went to see the exhibition "Outskirts of the Forest" at Musashino Art University Museum.
Sculptor/Isamu Wakabayashi (1936-2003) has been an artist I have admired since my early twenties when I learned that he created the bar counter (a complete sculpture) for "Bar Radio", an early masterpiece by Super Potato/ Takashi Sugimoto ( 1945-2018 ).
The exhibition is quite large and includes the sculpture "Outskirts of the Forest," as well as a number of other works, drawings, and documentation of the artist's process.
The exhibition was quite different from what I had imagined, with a strong, penetrating, yet sentimental concept and delicate drawings.
Where in the world does it begin and end? As I gazed at the dignified work without hesitation, I fantasized about the artist's way of life in various ways.
The event is open to the general public, so please visit the Musashino Art University Museum and enjoy this event. I highly recommend it.
