In 2017, Joseph Williams volunteered to read a book to the students in his child’s classroom on Chicago’s South Side. That reading led to another and would inspire other fathers to join him. That same year, Joseph launched @MrDadsFathersClub, a non-profit committed to having fathers and positive male role models read and serve as mentors to students in classrooms throughout Chicago.

In 2022, Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club received one of our @MBK_Alliance Freedom Summer grants to support their work. Today, the organization serves nearly 1,200 children, and hosts weekly training sessions for those looking to get involved in the program.

To Joseph and all of the dads working to make a difference in the lives of our young people, I hope you have a great Father’s Day. It’ll take all of us doing our part to build the brightest future possible for our kids.
