While our conversation was filled with so much joy and laughter, we also took a hard look at the realities of disability representation in the arts and how much further we still have to go. Ali and I were so fortunate that for our production of “Richard III,” inclusivity was front and center as our director, Tony Award nominee Robert O'Hara, populated the stage with an incredibly diverse group of actors - including not only Ali, but also deaf actress Monique Holt who plays the Duchess of York, to name a few. I call our production radically inclusive and I hope that we can continue down this path until inclusivity both on stage and screen is the status quo.
