With a career spanning two decades, Keiichiro Shibuya has carved a niche for himself by blending classical music training with cutting-edge electronic sounds. In this exclusive interview, we delve into Shibuya’s creative journey, from the inception of his music label “ATAK” in 2002 to his groundbreaking vocaloid opera, “The End.” This immersive show challenged traditional notions of narrative and brought together a stellar team of collaborators, including Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton’s art director, and architect Shohei Shigematsu. Shibuya also shares his thoughts on the role of AI and technology in his creative process and discusses his upcoming opera, “Android Opera Mirror.” This unique production combines ancient traditions with futuristic elements and will be showcased this month at the Théatre du Châtelet in Paris.
