Andreas examined the codes of Vivienne’s approach to corsetry and reinterpreted them. The Gigi corset from the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 2022/23 collection followed the classic structure, carrying echoes of vintage underwear.
The Doris Day corset from the Rock Me Amadeus collection for Spring-Summer 2020, further conformed to this design approach. In its juxtapositions of jacquard and elastic, it recalls the foundation garments of the mid-20th century.
