The textile panels are all antique and vintage silk kimono and silk haori textiles from the 1940s - 1980s. Everything is attached by hand-sewn silk thread and the lining of the dress is vintage silk haori lining and reclaimed silk. Sara is a skilled artist with vision. It’s been joyful to spend time and collaborate with a fellow Japanese American. Zero waste design and creation is at the heart of every handmade piece.
